Hibernian v St Mirren
Things are not going well at Hibs, they're out of the Scottish Cup and League Cup, so their season is pretty much over.
St Mirren are on fire at the moment and they're capable of taking something from this game.
The Buddies are always very well organised and don't give away too many cheap goals.
However, I think Hibs will get something from the match. Mixu Paatelainen is one of those managers who seems come up with results when you don't expect him to, especially at home, and the fans won't be happy if their team don't get a result.
Prediction: 2-1
Kilmarnock v Hearts
Hearts had a great result in the Scottish Cup against Hibs but against Motherwell they were totally hopeless.
When Fletcher got sent off for Hibs, they weren't playing too well at all, so they caught a break there.
Kilmarnock should have beaten Aberdeen during the week but Jimmy Calderwood's side got a goal out of nothing and it completely changed the game.
These teams don't score a lot of goals and, although Kilmarnock have a good record against Hearts, I think this one will be a draw.
Prediction: 1-1
Rangers v Falkirk
Rangers simply have to keep winning matches to keep up the pressure on Celtic.
They have a good record against Falkirk and I don't expect that to change despite the financial issues at Ibrox. I fancy them to do what they did against St Johnstone during the week and grind out a result.
It won't be a classic, and there won't be a lot of goals because Falkirk will set up to slow Rangers down.
John Hughes's side have been struggling in the league and, despite their confidence-boosting win in the Scottish Cup, they've not been scoring goals, so I fancy Rangers to do enough to get the win and close the gap to two points on Celtic at the top.
Prediction: 2-0
SUNDAY 18 JANUARY
Aberdeen v Celtic
This is going to be a difficult game for Celtic, although Aberdeen have a poor record against them in recent years.
The Dons got a great win during the week against Kilmarnock and they really have nothing to lose sitting in fourth place, so they can afford to have a go at Celtic.
If Rangers put the pressure on Celtic on Saturday, I fancy Aberdeen to take something out of this match, but maybe not a win.
If the gap at the top has closed, Celtic will struggle to contain Aberdeen and it'll be a tough test.
Prediction: 1-1
Dundee Utd v Motherwell
Dundee United are flying at the moment and it seems like they can do no wrong.
They've strung together some great results recently and can take points off anyone in the league, with their pace and power.
Motherwell have started to improve recently and are looking like they can turn the screw on teams when it matters.
Mark McGhee seems to have instilled a new work ethic in his players but, if Dundee United can play as well as they have been recently, the home side should edge this one.
Prediction: 2-1
